Backyard Pool & Outdoor Living Retreat in Newaygo, MI

This Newaygo client wanted to capture the feel of a luxurious vacation—right in their own backyard. Starting with a blank canvas and a steeply sloped yard, we worked to transform the terrain into a usable, relaxing retreat.

To begin, we constructed a large segmental retaining wall to level the grade and create the foundation for a future pool. Once the pool was installed, we designed and built a spacious paver patio for lounging and entertaining, along with a secondary elevated patio and pergola that offers panoramic views of the space.

At the far end of the pool, a custom-built 14-foot double sphere hammock stand adds a playful, resort-like touch—perfect for unwinding in the sun.

Beneath the raised deck, we created a fully equipped outdoor kitchen and bar, complete with a farmhouse sink, ice maker, and kegerator—ideal for hosting guests and making the most of Michigan summers.

As the sun sets, carefully placed landscape lighting brings the entire space to life, creating a warm, inviting ambiance that extends the usability of the space well into the evening.
